How circumcisions are Conducted at the Prince Clinic?
At the Prince Clinic circumcisions are performed under local anaesthesia (application of pain-killer medicines to the penis) by specialist and experienced Paediatric Surgeons (Surgeon specialised in child surgery) and Urologists (Surgeon specialised in genito-urinary surgery). We apply the most comprehensive method of pain-relief to ensure it is as pain-free as possible. As a matter of fact, most of newborns circumcised at this clinic remain or go to sleep during the procedure.
The procedure usually takes less than 15 minutes to complete. You don't need to do any specific preparation before, and the after-care is easy as in most cases there are no bandages or dressings to change or to apply.

A circumcision conducted without any pain relief causes the child feel excruciating pain and experience extreme distress. Recent clinical studies have shown that the best method for reducing a child’s pain and stress during the procedure is to apply a combination of a cream / gel and a penile nerve block. The latter, if performed correctly, makes the penis totally numb for 3-4 hours. So it is an effective and reliable method of eliminating the pain that occurs during the procedure.
In addition, the cosmetic outcome depends on several factors amongst them the doctor's experience, the circumcision technique and the appropriateness of the after-care.
